Crackled and fizzed, gave up without a fuss Your signal was weak, output was bleak and you left me scratching my head CHORUS: Nothing can replace the good old days Not all progress is good, and not all change is okay Nothing can replace the good old days Re-solder joints, point onto point, breath life into this tired old head Digital blues, they're out dating you, you sigh and get back into bed Progress just for the sake Is not progress I will make A millstone around our waist Led blindly into the lake Just drop me into the lake
3.
Everyone makes mistakes Even though we are not the same Don't be so hard on yourself Everyone makes mistakes COUNTER VERSE: All my failings Dragged out and long parading It's so damn degrading It's so, so damn degrading CHORUS: Baby you've got so much to live for
4.
You bring what you want and I'll bring what we need In other news today, I found our long lost dream Picture perfect place, with a picket fence Nothing in the drawer, but plenty for self defence CHORUS: I'll lay the table if you cooked the dinner Just live in the moment, do things you'll remember We can talk for hours and know just what we mean We know just where to go, because of where we've been Trust me when I say, you can trust me dear Days aren't quite as full when you are not all here BRIDGE: I found a best friend Over and over and over again
5.
I don't see what the fuss is about You're average at best Sticks and stones seem A little callous But it's all I have to say Just keep going, I won't say nothing to you My parents taught me To keep my mouth shut If I have nothing nice to say And it's a lesson I'm still perfecting From then until this present day Everybody's someone's someone So I'll be kind and courteous We surrender any right to Critise when we are rude Do to others what you'd desire That my friend's the Golden Rule
6.
These hands never held you like they wanted to This heart never beat right, clear Shut down like a Windows PC lightning storm But I never missed the surging, fried my motherboard Your eyes never saw me like I wanted them to They always looked over somewhere, else Defrag like a hard drive when the data's gone bad Can we make it like we used to? CHORUS: Honestly, I'm really trying just to be like me Before I met you when I cut my knees From praying every night to notice me Darling could you talk me, could you talk me down Sweetheart could you talk me, could you talk me round Honey do you bring me, do you bring me down? So darling would you talk me, would you talk me down
7.
I'm so late, always late And you can't wait forever I'm so late, always late And nothing lasts forever All this time Now you're gone and it's all my fault All my fault
8.
It's not who I want to be And somehow I don't even recognise it's me just yesterday Now she is waiting on the rush And I am quiet as a microphone without a steady voice CHORUS: To sing these words that you needed to hear But your voice isn't strong enough To fight against the echo of the Here and now in the empty space Between the hollow in you heart And the make up on your face You look away and blame me, just blame me For everything that went wrong, everything just goes wrong So you can blame me, shout out to the sea I'll swallow up the ocean in the hope that maybe one day you'll see We're not looking eye to eye And somehow I don't think it's all about our height, or anything Now I am waiting on your call Maybe you've run out minutes on your cell, or not at all
9.
Everything has gone so wrong And I can't help you with sad nylon songs Everything that you said right Is now adrift in these Van Gogh nights In an instant you yourself appears And tied those tongues with conscience oh so seared Truth be damned to me, you've made it clear No eye so blind as ears refuse to hear I'm done defending, I'm done defending you

about

10 songs I wrote back in 2016 in my first attempt at a speed run recording.
It was all written and ready to go in a month, then I got distracted by another project.
I shelved it until I found myself in isolation when I decided to put the finishing touches on the songs.
